Life in Medieval Ireland | Feudalism, the Black Death, and the Normans (500 AD to 1500 AD)



After the fall of the Roman Empire, society fell into chaos as there was no single leader in Europe to rule. People looked to their local leaders for protection and these leaders began to control vast areas of land. Eventually, they became known as kings and they organised society. The system became known as the Feudal System.
