Get Started: Big Ideas – The African Presence in Spain from the 16th to the 18th Century

Dr Carmen Fracchia, of the Department of Cultures and Languages, draws on visual examples of how Africans and their descendants were represented in art.

To celebrate Black History Month, Dr Fracchia will be giving a free lecture called, ‘The African Presence in Spain from the 16th to the 18th Century.’ This is the first of Birkbeck’s Access and Engagement department’s lecture series, ‘Big Ideas’ which will be held in Stratford Library on 8 October 2019, 6pm – 7:30pm.
