Zack Snyder Gives His Thoughts On David Corenswet’s ‘Superman’ Suit

Is Zack Snyder excited to watch Superman? The director gives his thoughts on David Corenswet’s suit in the upcoming DC Universe film.

David Corenswet’s debut as Superman will also serve as the start of a whole new DC Universe. This leaves the era of Zack Snyder’s projects behind, with the genre setting sights on a more cohesive universe. When Snyder was asked about Corenswet’s new suit, Snyder admitted that he was simply excited to see the movie before making any judgments.

“I’m gonna say that: let’s see it in the movie,” Snyder told The Hollywood Handle. “I’m interested to see how it works, you know, as a piece of storytelling. Yeah. But I am excited. I’m excited to see it.”

While Zack Snyder dodges the exact question of his thoughts on David Corenswet’s suit, it’s clear that he’s interested to see how James Gunn handles a more comic book-accurate design in the new DC Universe. Ultimately, it’s just a relief to see the director show some support for Superman instead of potentially digging the rift between fans wider.

Could Zack Snyder Continue His DC Universe?

Ever since Zack Snyder stepped away from the DC Universe, fans have been calling to restore the Snyderverse. Yet with James Gunn resetting the status quo with David Corenswet’s Superman, many thought it was hopeless. However, Snyder did also address the possibility of creating a comic book sequel to his connected universe.

“I never say never to anything,” Snyder explained when speaking of a potential continuation with artist Scott Snyder. “I would never say that there’s no chance, I just honestly haven’t had a chance to timing-wise, to think about it.”

Given how busy Zack Snyder has been with Rebel Moon, it makes sense that he hasn’t been in the lab scheming with a way to continue his DC Universe. For now, it seems David Corenswet may be the only Superman to hit the silver screen for some time. Yet as long as Snyder and James Gunn stay friends (as they always have been), things should be smooth sailing!
