THE HEAT ADVISORY BECAUSE YOU CANNOT HELP BUT WALK OUT THE DOOR AND JUST FEEL LIKE YOU ARE SLAMMED IN WITH HEAT AND HUMIDITY. TODAY, IT ALREADY FEELS LIKE THE MID 90S IN PALM BEACH COUNTY. THE ENTIRE AREA WILL FEEL LIKE ABOUT 110 FOR A LARGE PART OF THE AFTERNOON. BRIGHT RED MAJOR HEAT RISK SHOWING UP ON OUR MAPS HERE. EVEN EXTREME ON PARTS OF THE SOUTHWEST FLORIDA COASTLINE. SO HERE’S THE DEAL. THIS MORNING ALREADY FEELS LIKE 90 IN SEBASTIAN, 90 IN INDIANTOWN, 90 IN PORT SAINT LUCIE, AND IN STUART AND IN HOBE SOUND. EXTREME HEAT CONTINUING THROUGHOUT THE COURSE OF THE AFTERNOON. WHAT DOES IT FEEL LIKE IN PALM BEACH COUNTY? WELL, ON THE ISLAND IT FEELS LIKE 90. IT FEELS LIKE 90 AT THE AIRPORT, PALM BEACH GARDENS, WELLINGTON, AND IN BOYNTON BEACH. EARLIER WHEN I WALKED IN AT THREE, IT STILL FELT LIKE THE MID 90S. SO IT’S REALLY THE HUMIDITY. THAT’S THE GAME CHANGER THE DEW POINTS ARE AT, YOU KNOW, SOME OF THE HIGHEST LEVELS THAT I’VE SEEN THEM AT, RIGHT AT ABOUT 80 DEGREES. THIS MORNING, 70 MILE AN HOUR WINDS WITH ERNESTO, WHICH IS NOW ABOUT 5060 MILES NORTH OF SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO. SO IT DIDN’T MAKE A DIRECT LANDFALL. BUT IT’S BRUSHING PAST THERE. THERE ARE TORNADO WARNINGS THIS MORNING WITH THESE OUTER BANDS. WHIPLASHING THE ISLAND BRITISH ISLANDS ARE UNDER A HURRICANE WATCH AS WELL AS THE U.S. VIRGIN ISLANDS AND THEN AS WE GO NORTH, IT BECOMES A HURRICANE AND CONTINUES OUT TO SEA, EVENTUALLY BRUSHING PAST BERMUDA AS WELL. FOR US, THIS WILL MEAN A LITTLE BIT OF A BREAK IN THE HUMIDITY THIS WEEKEND. AND BOY WILL WE HAVE EARNED IT TODAY 90 TO 95. DON’T BE DECEIVED THOUGH, IT FEELS LIKE 110 LATER ON. AND THAT’S WHY YO

WPBF 25 First Warning Weather meteorologists are tracking Hurricane Ernesto, which formed in the Atlantic Ocean Wednesday morning.Ernesto became a hurricane north of Puerto Rico.As of the 5 p.m. advisory, Ernesto is about 180 miles east of Grand Turk Island, with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph and is moving northwest at 16 mph.The National Hurricane Center said Ernesto, a Category 1 hurricane, will likely bring significant flooding across Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands as heavy rain persist. WPBF 25 First Warning Weather meteorologists are tracking Hurricane Ernesto, which formed in the Atlantic Ocean Wednesday morning.

Ernesto became a hurricane north of Puerto Rico.

As of the 5 p.m. advisory, Ernesto is about 180 miles east of Grand Turk Island, with maximum sustained winds of 75 mph and is moving northwest at 16 mph.
