Tom Cruise Helps Pass the Olympic Torch from Paris to Hollywood

The 2024 Paris Olympics wrapped with an epic stunt from Tom Cruise and performances by Los Angeles musicians Snoop Dogg, Billie Eilish and Red Hot Chili Peppers, as the Olympic torch passed from Paris to Hollywood.

As part of the closing ceremony, Cruise repelled off the top of the Stade de France and dropped down through the air on safety wires, before landing on the arena stage where he was greeted by athletes and fans. He walked across the stage as artist H.E.R, who played the National Anthem earlier in the ceremony, played guitar. 

Cruise was greeted by athletes and cheered on by fans as he walked across the stage to the rocking guitar of H.E.R – who had also played the National Anthem shortly before. Cruise shook hands with Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and gold medalist Simone Biles.

In a pre-recorded clip, Cruise then rode a motorcycle through the streets with Olympic flag waving, and onto a plane to Los Angeles where be eventually arrived at the top of the Hollywood sign. The iconic symbol of Hollywood had been fitted to showcase the Olympic rings in the “O”s in “wood.” 

Los Angeles will be home to the summer Olympics in 2028. We can’t wait!
