Runoko Rashidi – African Presence in Early Europe 02-11-2002 Portsmouth Virginia



Dr. Runoko Rashidi presents for The Imani Foundation (of Virginia) in 2002 a slide lecture revealing his research into the African presence in Early Europe. The lecture took place inside Hunt-Mapp Middle School of Portsmouth City Public Schools (Portsmouth Virginia) as a faculty and community Black History Program organized by school counselor Seko Varner.

In 2012 Runoko Rashidi authored of a new book entitled “Black Star: The African Presence In Early Europe”.

Runoko Rashidi in one of our great African Centered Scholars. He is a historian, research specialist, writer and public lecturer focusing on the African foundations of world civilizations. He is a world traveler and has traveled to 100 countries, colonies and overseas territories.

He is the author of “Introduction to the Study Of African Classical Civilizations” and the editor, along with Dr. Ivan Van Sertima, of the African Presence in Early Asia.

In his book “Black Star: The African Presence In Early Europe” he discusses The Moors in Europe, the presence of the Black Madonna and Child, African Patron Saints, Knights, Africans In Early Britain and more.
