Chris Stein Confirms New Blondie Album Is Coming Next Year

Chris Stein recently shared a black and white photo of Debbie Harry in the studio on Instagram, announcing that a new Blondie album is coming in 2025. The band has yet to share further details about the album, such as its release date, title, tracklist, or cover art.

This upcoming release will be Blondie’s first since ‘Pollinator’ in 2017, which featured collaborations with artists like Dave Sitek of TV On The Radio, Charli XCX, Sia, Dev Hynes, and Johnny Marr.

The band’s 11th studio record also included guest performances from Joan Jett and Laurie Anderson on the track ‘Doom Or Destiny’ and The Gregory Brothers on ‘When I Gave Up on You.’ The album was recorded at New York’s Magic Shop, famously the same studio where David Bowie recorded ‘Blackstar.’

Through 2024, Blondie performed at various venues, including Halifax Piece Hall and the Plymouth Summer Sessions. They headlined the Cruel World Festival in Pasadena, California, sharing the stage with bands like Duran Duran and Interpol.

Last year, the band took the stage at Glastonbury Festival, playing a set of their classics and paying tribute to artists like Donna Summer and the Sex Pistols.
