BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 16. Sustainability
and peace are two pillars that define a brighter future for all,
member of Azerbaijani delegation, MP Amina Aghazade said, Trend reports.

She made the remark during the 149th Assembly of the
Inter-Parliamentary Union, attended by the Azerbaijani delegation
led by Chairperson of Azerbaijani Parliament Sahiba Gafarova, in
Geneva today.

Emphasizing importance of using science, technology, and
innovation (STI) for a more peaceful and sustainable future, the MP
pointed out significance of a balanced relationship between human
activities and the natural environment.in the modern world for the
security of the Earth.

“Technology, when used wisely, can help bridge this gap.
Renewable energy solutions, for example, are transforming how we
produce and consume energy, reducing our dependence on finite
resources and cutting carbon emissions.

In Azerbaijan, we are working to expand our own capabilities in
these areas, leveraging our expertise to contribute to global
energy security. But it is not enough to focus on technology alone.
Innovation must be inclusive. As a member of parliament, I am
committed to ensuring that our nation’s efforts in STI are aligned
with the principles of equity and shared prosperity worldwide.

In this regard, international cooperation is crucial. Azerbaijan
is already engaged in collaborations that promote knowledge
transfer and scientific partnerships, with the goal of ensuring
that STI benefits everyone, not just a select few. Moreover, in our
pursuit of peace, STI offers solutions that can mitigate conflicts
before they arise.

As we look to the future, we must remain steadfast in our
commitment to investing in research, supporting education, and
fostering public-private partnerships that can drive technological
breakthroughs.

Azerbaijan is dedicated to playing its role in this global
effort, working alongside international partners to build a
sustainable, resilient, and peaceful world for future
generations.

The future we want is within our grasp, but we must commit to
using STI as a tool for the greater good—advancing not only
progress but also equity, stability, and peace for all,” she
added.
