Turkish Airlines’ content as of Sept. 1 is no longer available on Sabre-connected channels, Sabre confirmed to BTN portfolio mate The Beat, after renewal negotiations came to a standstill last week between the carrier and the global distribution system provider.
The break comes a month before Turkish Airlines on Oct. 1 plans to launch its New Distribution Capability platform for agents, TKConnect. That date also is when the carrier planned to begin charging a distribution fee for bookings made via global distribution systems. The carrier has not unveiled what that surcharge would be.
Neither Sabre nor Turkish Airlines immediately responded to BTN requests for comment.
