The Fantastic Four Set Photo Offers First Look At MCU Version Of The Thing

New set photos from The Fantastic Four: First Steps have surfaced online, revealing a first look at the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of The Thing, portrayed by The Bear star Ebon Moss-Bachrach. Although Marvel Studios has been trying to keep details of the Fantastic Four reboot under wraps, outdoor filming has provided fans with a glimpse of Ben Grimm’s character design.

The photos from the set of Fantastic Four: First Steps show a stand-in on set, used as a reference for the CGI that will later be applied to fully create The Thing’s rocky appearance in post-production. THE movie aims to introduce Marvel’s First Family into the MCU with a fresh take on their iconic comic book characters, with the set photo teasing that the project will honor the source material.

While details about the movie are being kept under wraps, the Fantastic Four heroes are already making their mark on the Marvel Cinematic Universe! Marvel’s first family is officially set to appear in the next two Avengers films, meaning that Kevin Feige and his team have big plans for the characters.

What to expect from Marvel’s upcoming Fantastic Four movie

The Fantastic Four characters were created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, with the team making its first comic book appearance in 1961. The previous Fantastic Four movies, while popular, were not well-received by fans or critics, and Marvel Studios has an opportunity to right the wrongs of the past and deliver a feature that is true to the spirit of the comics.

Behind the scenes, The Fantastic Four will be brought to life under the direction of Matt Shakman, with Josh Friedman writing the screenplay. With production slated to begin in summer 2024, Marvel fans can look forward to the film’s journey to theaters in July 2025, marking a new chapter in the MCU.

The Fantastic Four opens on July 25, 2025. Stay tuned for all the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
