World 1500m champion and Olympic silver medallist Josh Kerr has been named Scottish Athletics’ athlete of the year.
Head of performance Mark Pollard said it was reward for the 27-year-old’s “exceptional year”.
“He delivered success at a championship level both indoors and outdoors over the past year and the ability to produce his best performances in the moments where it mattered are a credit to his professionalism and dedication to our sport,” he said.
“To have a Scotsman win a World Championship in Scotland at the World Indoors was something truly significant.
“Going beyond that, to win the silver medal in Paris in what can only be described as a 1500m final ‘for the ages’ was another incredible achievement in a strong season.”
Meanwhile, Paris 2024 Paralympic champions Samantha Kinghorn and Ben Sandilands shared the Para athlete of the year award.
