Brave New World’ Report Reveals New Details About Sabra’s Role

Is Sabra out of the picture? A new report reveals some drastic changes are coming for the iconic mutant in Captain America: Brave New World.

Captain America: Brave New World may go down as one of the most cursed films in Marvel’s catalog given the amount of controversies the project has had to contend with. One of the most talked about is the inclusion of Sabra played by Shira Haas, a super soldier from Israel who was announced to be joining the film at the height of online backlash against the nation.

However, it seems Sabra will have some drastic changes in Captain America: Brave New World. Perhaps the most obvious being the name! While Shira Haas’ character will be an adaptation of Sabra, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Marvel refrained from using her codename in the project.

Sabra’s Origin Gets A Massive Overhaul

The name isn’t the only change coming to Sabra in Captain America: Brave New World. In many ways, it seems Shira Haas will be playing an entirely new character. Reading further into the report, it appears that the character will be a former Black Widow who is now a high-ranking official in the US government.

Some have questioned whether Marvel made this changes following the backlash to Sabra’s inclusion in Captain America: Brave New World. However, the report reveals that this was always the plan for Shira Haas’ character, citing that the studio often makes drastic changes when adapting characters from the comics. However, it’s yet to be seen if this will win over the film’s many vocal critics.

Captain America: Brave New World is currently slated to hit theaters on February 14, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
