Brave New World’ Character Description Reveals New Origin For Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk

Red Hulk is getting a brand new origin! Character descriptions from Captain America: Brave New World give fans their first hints at Harrison Ford’s transformation.

A lot of questions are lingering around the release of Captain America: Brave New World. One of the biggest is how the studio plans to adapt the Red Hulk, a character with an infamously strange origin, without the inclusion of the Hulk. This was seemingly answered in a new description of Harrison Ford’s role in the film, revealing that The Leader would be behind his monstrous transformation.

“A monster of Samuel Sterns’ making. Red Hulk is an incredibly strong and formidable foe. His skin radiates intense heat, burning everything he touches.”

In addition to Red Hulk being created by The Leader in Captain America: Brave New World, this description also confirms that Harrison Ford will be getting the character’s most iconic power from the comics: the ability to radiate heat using his gamma powers. This certainly puts Sam Wilson on the backfoot, but also exposes a key weakness in being able to use the heat created by Red Hulk’s own body to overheat and disorient him.

Sam Wilson Takes Up The Mantle Of Captain America

These character descriptions don’t just provide new details about Harrison Ford’s Red Hulk. Fans also discovered some key details about Sam Wilson’s journey in Captain America: Brave New World. The description for his character reveals that he’s been acting as Captain America for some time, suggesting a significant time jump between Falcon and The Winter Soldier and the upcoming film.

“After carrying the mantle of Captain America for a few years, Sam Wilson must use his intelligence and make new allies to stop a force unlike any he’s seen before.”

It’ll be interesting to see how Sam Wilson will react to a foe like Red Hulk in Captain America: Brave New World given his newfound experience holding the mantle. It’s clear he already has an antagonistic relationship with Harrison Ford’s character in the trailers, so it may very well be a case of Captain America taking on an old enemy in a brand new form.

Captain America: Brave New World is currently slated to hit theaters on February 14, 2025. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
