Award-Winning Doc About Palestine – ‘No Other Land’ Official Trailer

“We have to raise our voices…” Dogwoof has unveiled an official UK trailer for the acclaimed, award-wining film titled No Other Land, made by a group of four filmmakers from Palestine & Israel. This premiered at the 2024 Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, where it won two major awards – then the filmmakers were threatened by crazy Germans and the festival didn’t properly defend them which is a real shame. I caught up with the doc at the Karlovy Vary Film Festival and I was very moved and unsettled by its portrayal of life in Palestine. For half a decade, Basel Adra, a Palestinian activist, films his community of Masafer Yatta being destroyed by Israel’s occupation, as he builds an unlikely alliance with an Israeli journalist who also wants to join his fight. There is no way anyone can watch this doc and not see, plain as day, what is really going on with Israel committing genocide in Palestine and treating so many of these harmless people so poorly. I’m glad films like this exist to show us the truth about what is really happening, documenting the reality even if so many people insist on denying it. Still waiting for this to get an actual US release date. Take a look below.

Basel Adra is a Palestinian lawyer, journalist and filmmaker from Masafer Yatta (here). He has been an activist and documentarian since 15, fighting against Israel’s mass expulsion of his community. Rachel Szor is an Israeli cinematographer, editor, and director from Jerusalem. Hamdan Ballal is a Palestinian photographer, filmmaker and farmer from Susya, and has also worked as a researcher for several anti-occupation human rights groups. Yuval Abraham is an Israeli filmmaker and investigative journalist from Jerusalem. No Other Land is a documentary co-directed by four filmmakers from both Palestine & Israel: Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham & Rachel Szor. Produced by Fabien Greenberg and Bård Kjøge Rønning. This initially premiered at the 2024 Berlin Film Festival earlier this year, where it won the Berlinale Documentary Award + Panorama Audience Award. Dogwoof opens No Other Land in UK cinemas starting on November 8th, 2024 this fall. No US release date has been set yet – stay tuned. Visit their site.
